What is the Family App? 

Once downloaded onto your phone or desktop, the App enables you to access real-time visit information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  

You will be able to see which carer is visiting and when, and what their visit schedule is seven days in advance. Furthermore, you can access the history of your loved one’s food and fluid intake, which medications were taken, whether their LifeLine was worn, and that they felt safe and secure. 

The ability to view the tasks we are asking our carers to complete during each visit according to your loved one’s specific care plan provides further reassurance. In addition, should you wish to, you can communicate directly with the coordinator about times for hospital appointments, scheduled tasks and specific requirements.  

One potential drawback of relying solely on Home Care provision for your loved one is not being able to give feedback directly to carers. However, the Family App enables you to do just that. For example, you can let them know just how happy it made your mum feel when her carer took the time to help her prepare a favourite meal, or that your dad might respond better to help with dressing if he had a cup of tea first!
